Beyond Ordinary
A creative brand
and web studio
Beyond Ordinary is a design-led studio based in Worthing, West Sussex. We help ambitious brands translate identity into digital experiences that are as technically exceptional as they are creatively distinctive.
What we do
We bring creative direction, design and development together so your brand and website tell one coherent story, helping to move you forward.
The result is a brand and website that reflects your real ambition — and gives your audience a reason to choose you.
Our
foundations
Creative clarity
Every visual decision — layout, detail and motion — is made with your audience and ambition in mind. We don't decorate; we communicate. From the first sketch to the final pixel, every choice has a reason behind it.
Technical craft
Custom builds on modern frameworks (Astro.js, Next.js) that are fast, scalable, and CMS-ready from day one. No bloated templates, no compromises, no ai slop. Just clean, performant code that holds up long after launch.
Strategic thinking
We understand the commercial context behind every creative decision and how design can drive business perception and growth. Good design isn't just beautiful — it positions you, builds trust, and gives you an edge over competitors playing it safe.
Our
approach
Our approach blends creative brand direction, design systems, and technical performance into seamless experiences that look and feel beyond the ordinary — all in one package .
Frequently
asked questions
Here is what clients usually want to know before
starting a conversation with us
It starts with a discovery call — we get to know your business, your brief, and your ambitions. From there we move into a paid discovery phase: strategy, research, and creative direction. Once that's signed off, we move into design, then build, then testing and launch. Every phase has clear deliverables and sign-off points, so nothing moves forward until you're confident. After launch, we stay close.
It means you work directly with the person doing the work, every step of the way. No account managers, no handoffs, no brief getting lost between departments. What you get is focus, accountability, and a level of creative consistency that's hard to achieve in a larger team. For the right clients, it's a significant advantage.
More than you might expect at the start, less as the project progresses. The discovery phase works best when you're engaged — your knowledge of your business is something we can't replicate. After that, we take the lead creatively, and your involvement is structured around key review points rather than ongoing back-and-forth. We design the process to respect your time.
We build primarily in Astro.js and Next.js — modern, performant frameworks that produce fast, scalable, CMS-ready websites. We choose frameworks based on what the project needs, not what's easiest for us. Every build is custom; we don't use templates or page builders. The result is a site that's faster, cleaner, and more maintainable long after launch.
Yes to both. If you have a strong brand and need a website that does it justice, we can work within your existing identity. If you have a website and need a brand to match, same principle. We'll always be honest if we think something needs revisiting — but we won't push work on you that isn't necessary.
Launch is the beginning of the relationship, not the end. We offer ongoing support, refinement, and development after every project. Some clients want a light-touch retainer for updates and improvements; others want a more active ongoing partnership. We'll agree what makes sense for you before we close out the project.
Yes. If you have an in-house team, a marketing agency, a PR firm, or a developer you already trust, we're comfortable working alongside them. We're used to slotting into existing structures and collaborating across disciplines. The main thing we ask is clear lines of communication and a single point of contact on your side.
Selectively. Retainers work best after we've completed a project together and have an established working relationship. If you're looking for ongoing creative direction, design support, or development work, get in touch and we can talk through what that might look like.
